Love the Liffey

Fergal McCarthy: I am passionate about the Liffey, the river that flows through the centre of Dublin. I am a visual artist, I make public art projects that are located on the Liffey. Ultimately I imagine a ribbon of green unfurling along the river's quays, a linear park extending from Heuston Station to Dublin Port. A single lane of traffic on both sides of the river could be reborn as a green oasis that channels an audience around the Liffey. This blog brings together a stream of ideas implemented in other cities and rivers. Internationally, people are becoming aware of the possibilities that exist in relation to utilising rivers to compliment urban living. www.fergalmccarthy.com
